The Library

In the department owns a large collection of selected books & literature while students have access to other libraries world over through INTERNET under INFLIBNET Programme of Govt. of India. In addition, the students can avail facilities of college or University Central Library. The College Library also maintains a very rich Book Bank lending books on a very nominal rates.

The Laboratory

The Laboratories of the Department are fully equipped with latest state-of-the-art equipments and provide excellent infra-structure for imparting practical training to the students. The major equipments which are available in the department include :

Laminar Flow Clean Air Bench, Refrigerated Centrifuges, Spectrophotometer, Electrophoresis-systems, Transillumi nators, pH meters, PCR Machine, Ice Flaking Machine, Speed Vac Sample Concentrator, Electrical Balance, Auto claves, Deep Freezer, Referigerators, BOD Incubator, Gel Rocker, Magnetic Stirrer, Water Baths, Dry Bath, Micropi pettes and Distillation Units, Glass Bead Sterilizers, Ovens, Incubators etc.

The students also have an access to various research laboratories in the Departments of Botany and Zoology which are equipped with most sophisticated equipments like HPLC, Bioreactors, CO2 Incubators, Incubator Shakers, Gel Documentation System, Polarographic Analyzer and UV-Spectrophotometer.

For Scientific Interaction the students are taken for visit to different national laboratories in the country. These visits are also meant for the exposure of the students to the latest researches being conducted in different areas of bio technology. They are also taken to biotechnology based industries for this purpose. For all round development of the personality the students are encouraged to present seminars on topics of interest. A close interaction with various research laboratories provide an excellent interface to students aspiring for career in research.
