The Department of Biotechnology was established in the year 1997 with introduction of a Two Year Post-Graduate Program (M.Sc. Biotechnology). Since its inception the department has produced six batches with increasing intake capacity year after the year. The department which started functioning from the Department of Botany is currently located in an independent building at University College of Science (old campus of the university). It has excellent infra-structure to support effective teaching and learning. The department has well furnished classrooms, laboratories, equipment facility and all necessary audio-visual aids. The curriculum of Post-Graduate Program is of high standard and matches well with any institute offering the similar course in the country.
